As the spring semester drew to a close, Siena College recognized the academic success and hard work of its students with the annual Celebration of Academic Excellence. Throughout the day, students were inducted into various academic honor societies and some were recognized with awards for leadership and involvement.

Celebrating Town and Gown Collaboration

As the Siena College community celebrated the academic and leadership awards received by its students, it also recognized the successful partnerships formed with the Town of Colonie. The Vice President for Student Affairs (VPSA) Special Recognition Award was given to the Town of Colonie Police Department and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and the Shaker Road Loudonville Fire Department.

Storytelling and Activism: 2013 MLK Lecture

For more than 25 years, Siena College has hosted The Martin Luther King Jr. and Coretta Scott King Lecture Series on Race and Nonviolent Social Change. It was established by Siena College in 1988 to preserve the legacy of the nonviolent human rights movement as it was expressed in the life and teachings of Martin Luther King Jr. and Coretta Scott King.
