The 2014-2015 academic year brought great success to the Siena College English department. Five faculty members published books, all inspired by topics they explored with their students in the classroom.

Siena College will welcome bestselling author Mohsin Hamid on Thursday, September 10. His writing has been featured on bestseller lists, adapted for cinema, shortlisted for the Man Booker Prize, selected as a winner of finalist for 20 awards and translated into 35 languages.

Computer science professors Meg Fryling, Ph.D. and Jack Rivituso, Ed.D. spent part of the summer teaching at the Zhejiang Institute of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering (ZIME) in Hangzhou, China.

The Siena College Community welcomed its newest Saints on Thursday, September 3. Many groups — from orientation staff to admissions counselors to student-athletes to ROTC — helped to move students into their new home.

There's one question we get asked often that is both easy and difficult to answer: "What are the students like?" Easy, because Siena students really do have so many things in common. Difficult, because we've got a pretty diverse group of students here. That being said, we drew up a list of 50 very carefully chosen adjectives to describe Saints.

The 2015 Summer Legal Fellows Program placed Siena students at prestigious law schools including Fordham Law School, American University, Western New England Law School and Albany Law School. Every school's program had a different research focus, making each Siena student's experience uniquely fulfilling.

Twenty three college students, including fourteen Siena Saints, participated in this year's Summer Service Scholars.

Hopefully by now, you have a few college visits lined up in the coming weeks. It's truly the best way to whittle down your list, and this time of year is perfect for touring campuses. Especially Siena's. The fall weather is unbeatable, and you'll get to meet current students, professors and, of course, our awesome Student Ambassadors.
