Siena College has announced the appointment of Dr. Margaret E. Madden as Vice President for Academic Affairs. With a distinguished career in higher education that spans more than three decades as a faculty member and administrator at private and public colleges and universities, Dr. Madden succeeds Dr. Linda Richardson, who will retire in August after 12 years as Siena’s top academic administrator.

If you've been on one of our campus tours, you already know that our guides, also called student ambassadors, are fantastic and just as enthusiastic about Siena as we are. “I firmly believe that we are going to excel at whatever we set out to do,” Meaghan Flatley assured fellow graduates of the Class of 2015 as she delivered the Senior Commencement Address. “More importantly, we’ll hold the door.”

Garrison Grant ’15 and his brother Hanson might make the world of scrap paper and planners obsolete with their creation of the Think Board. The portable, clear adhesive can turn any smooth surface into a dry erase board. Since returning from his study abroad experience in India, Garrison has taken over managing the flourishing project that has been featured in the USA Today.

In April Siena hosted the seventh annual Alex’s Lemonade Stand to raise proceeds for childhood cancer research. Students gathered in front of Lonnstrom Dining Hall to sell cups of the summer-time delight.

Susana Diaz '15 is this year's recipient of the Lonnstrom HEOP Excellence Award. The Bronx, N.Y. native will receive her bachelor’s degree in Social Work.

The annual Day of Living History brought volunteers and professional reenactors to campus to share their love of history. On display were 18th century toys and games, live firing demonstrations from the French and Indian War, Revolutionary War and Civil War reenactors.

Specialty Silicone Products, a company with a strong Siena alumni presence, is celebrating their 25th Anniversary. To commemorate the occasion they sponsored a logo contest where Colin Scherff ’16 received a $500 cash prize as the winner.
