Siena to Host Public Eclipse Viewing Aug. 21

Siena’s Department of Physics and Astronomy will host a public viewing of the solar eclipse on Monday, Aug. 21. Special souvenir eclipse viewing glasses with the Siena logo will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.

From the Desk of the President

Over the weekend, our nation was shaken and saddened by the hatred and bigotry fueled violence we witnessed in Charlottesville, VA. Demonstrations by white nationalists and related hate groups erupted in riots and death. The deep divisions that exist in our country were on horrific display; so too was our failure as a nation to forge a path rooted in our nation’s founding values of inclusivity and the common good for all.

Class of 2017 Off to the Races

As an annual tradition, the Class of 2017 gathered at the Saratoga Racetrack for the 100 Days After Graduation Party on August 5. Hosted by Siena’s Alumni Relations Office, the day gives the Saints a chance to catch up, reminisce and place some bets with their fellow classmates.
