Cardinal Paulo Evaristo Arns, whose advocacy of human rights and devotion to the poor, the wrongly incarcerated and the tortured earned him an honorary degree from Siena College, died on Dec. 14 in Sao Paolo, Brazil.

Once a week when Professor Rody-Wright is not on Siena’s campus, she is spending time at Greene Correctional Facility in Coxsackie, NY. Here, she teaches a group of twenty inmates at the medium-security prison the same curriculum she is working on with her Siena freshmen.
