Siena has approximately 2,500 students living in seven residential communities that include traditional residence halls, suite style living, and townhouse units.

Our Freshmen communities are traditional style residence halls that offer doubles, triples and quads for living arrangements. These communities are gendered by floor and have communal bathrooms. Our Freshmen communities are located in Hines Hall, Plassmann Hall and Ryan Hall.

Our upperclassman communities have options that include all styles of living. Our Sophomore students are eligible for Plassmann Hall, Hennepin Hall, and Padua Hall. Our Junior and Senior students are eligible for Hennepin Hall, Padua Hall, Snyder Hall, Cushing Village and MacClosky Square.

Residential Areas

This is one of the two townhouse communities. The Townhouses are transitional style living units primarily for current seniors (however, that depends on class year size) and the gender demographic is by house. Cushing Village Townhouses consist of 4- and 6- person single-sex units. They are two-story buildings with a living room, kitchen, and half-bath on the first floor and two bedrooms and a full bathroom on the second floor.

Hennipen Hall currently houses approximately 480 students in a six-story residence hall. Male students reside on the first and second floors (double occupancy). Female students reside on the third and fourth floor (double occupancy). Male and female students both live on the fifth and sixth floor separated by wing (suite-style occupancy). Hennepin Hall is named after Fr. Louis Hennepin, a Catholic priest who left France in 1679 to explore North America. He was part of the exploration that first recorded seeing Niagara Falls and St. Anthony Falls (Minneapolis).

Hines Hall is currently home to approximately 280 students. Male students reside on the second floor, female students reside on the third and the fourth floor is determined by the incoming freshman class. Hines hall has traditional doubles, triples and quad-style rooms throughout the building. The Hines Hall is the original campus friary, and is named for Fr. Hugh Hines, who was the seventh president of Siena College from 1976 to 1989. Hines Hall also houses the Department of Information Technology Systems (ITS), faculty offices, and the Siena Research Institute.

MacClosky Square Townhouses consist of 6- person single-sex units. They are two-story buildings with a bedroom, living room, kitchen, and bathroom on the first floor and 2-3 bedrooms and a bathroom on the second floor.

Padua Hall currently houses approximately 280 students. Padua Hall consists of triple occupancy rooms with a private bath. Male students live on the first and second floors, and female students live on the third and fourth floors. Padua Hall is one of Siena's newest residence halls, and is named after St. Anthony of Padua, a Franciscan friar who joined the Catholic Church after giving up his inheritance and committing to a life of helping others.

Plassmann Hall currently houses approximately 400 students. Male students reside on floors 1-2 and female students reside of floors 3-4 in traditional double rooms with a few triple and quad-style rooms.The 5th floor consists of 4 and 6-person suites, which are gendered by wing. Opened in 1959, Plassmann was built to provide students a comfortable place to live and learn. Named for Fr. Thomas Plassmann, one of the founding Friars of Siena College, the hall has long stood as a home away from home for many students.

Ryan Hall is a first year student residence hall housing approximately 300 students on four floors with three wings. Male students live on the 1st and 2nd floors and female students live on the 3rd and 4th floors. The majority of rooms are double-occupancy with a few quad-style rooms. Ryan Hall is named after Fr. Benvenute Ryan, OFM, who served as a Provincial Minister for the Holy Name Province from 1925-1931, just a few years prior to the establishment of Siena College (1937).

The Snyder Hall is Siena's newest residence hall featuring 264 beds in double style living with a private bath. Male students reside on floors 1-2 and female students resided on floors 3-4. In addition to being a residence hall, our Snyder Community is also home to the Massry Commons dining facility and the offices for the Sr. Thea Bowman Center for Women.
