At Siena, we know that transfer students enrich our community. That’s why we enroll more than 225 of them each year, infusing the Siena experience with a wider, more diverse perspective and understanding of the world.
It's also why we launched The Siena Transfer Guarantee, which includes at least $28,000* in scholarships toward your degree. If you're in Phi Theta Kappa, you'll get at least $43,000 over two years!
Our transfer admissions process is straightforward, easy and fast. We will work with you while you earn coursework elsewhere—as early as your very first semester at another school!—so you can then seamlessly move on to Siena and finish your degree on time.
Siena is looking for transfer students with at least a 2.5 GPA at their current college. These students should have three years of college preparatory mathematics complete (through algebra 2/trigonometry). For students applying to the School of Science, pre-calculus is required and biology majors need at least a 3.0 GPA. Once you apply, you'll receive a decision in 7-10 business days.
APPLYING AS A TRANSFER STUDENT
Deadlines: Spring semester—January 1; Summer— April 1; Fall semester—August 1.
Application requirements: application, official transcripts from all colleges/universities awarding you credit, official high-school transcript or official copy of a G.E.D., official reports of all CLEP or AP exams and Siena's Transfer Recommendation Form. HOW MANY CREDITS WILL YOU GET?
Transfer students need to fulfill the core curriculum, complete half of their major courses and at least 30 credit hours at Siena. Students from a two-year colleges can receive up to 66 credits. Siena accepts a maximum of 75 credits from four-year institutions. Transfer credit is given for courses where at least a "C" was earned and are similar in content, level and scope to Siena courses.
TRANSFER SCHOLARSHIPS
Siena offers a range of scholarships and grants, including merit and need-based aid. All transfers receive one of the following merit scholarships:
$21,500 per year for All Phi Theta Kappa students; $19,000 per year Franciscan Scholarship for students with a GPA of 3.2+; $16,000 per year St. Clare Scholarship for students with a GPA of 2.9-3.19; and $14,000 per year Mission Scholarship for students with a GPA of 2.5-2.89
This means transfer students get at least $28,000 in scholarships over two years, and this can go up to $43,000. And need-based aid is stacked on top!
