Meet with your career center advisor and begin having conversations about your career plans early so you will know how to get where you want to be later. This can help influence what classes you take, clubs you join, and open your eyes to internships and other opportunities.

How to address professors (e.g., Dr. or Professor, not Mrs. or Mr.), how to send an email to a professor, not to be scared of professors (we are here to help them and teach them!), good systems that works for them regarding note-taking, file management & time management.

Go to office hours! Get involved in campus clubs and organizations--try all of the ones that offer free food. Go to a sporting event for a sport you don't usually follow (college tennis is FUN!) Did I mention office hours?
don't be afraid to say you need help. whether it's an email to a prof saying that you need an extension, reaching out to disability services about accommodations used in high school, meeting with a counselor, or signing up for tutoring: identify and ask for what you need.
If they face an emergency or crisis that will cause them to miss multiple classes, don't just disappear. Let appropriate people know so they can receive support and extensions.
Look at the campus bulletin boards periodically. There are *so* many opportunities (movies, plays, lectures, clubs, etc) every single day. You will never have more freedom to explore new things-take advantage and it might change your life.
