Siena College’s School of Business Lecture Series concluded with a presentation by Business Review Publisher Carolyn Jones and Editor Mike Hendricks. Their lecture was called “News and Information: Its critical role in your career and success.”
Jones has been the Business Review's publisher for more than 10 years. She stressed to the students the importance on staying up-to-date on the latest news. She also encouraged them to network with people in the business world.
“Making connections are incredibly important,” Jones said. “It’s never too early to start.”
Hendricks has also worked at the Business Review for more than a decade. The paper's editor provided advice about how to handle news and information. “Today news is coming to you from all over,” Hendricks said. “You’ve got to take responsibility for all the information and know where to look. It's important.”
Students in attendance appreciated the advice they received. “I think that they both had a lot of great tips to offer,” Olivia Fay ’13 said.
