The Maloney Great Room was filled as Siena College celebrated its 21st Annual Scholarship Appreciation Dinner. More than 120 scholarship donors and 160 student recipients gathered together to share a meal and stories about personal and academic accomplishments.

With more than 85 scholarships represented, the Scholarship Appreciation Dinner proved to be a wonderful opportunity for students to connect with the donors who help to make their Siena experience possible. Students expressed sincere gratitude to their donors who in turn offered encouragement and affirmation to their scholars.

Board of Trustees Chair Robert Cushing ’77, Siena College President Fr. Kevin Mullen ’75, O.F.M., Ph.D. and Vice President for Development and External Affairs Dave Smith ’79 discussed the value and importance of scholarships and the highlight of the evening was a touching video titled “From the Heart.” The piece featured scholarship donor Maureen Raub and her children, Rebecca and Liam. The family financed the Raub Trading Room and the William R. Raub '85 Memorial Scholarship Fund. William Raub ’85 was a victim of the September 11, 2011 terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center. He was an ardent advocate of Siena College and his family continues his passion for Siena in their generous philanthropy to the College.

As the evening ended, students and donors left with a renewed appreciation and commitment to Siena College.
