The Spring 2022 COVID-19 Dashboard provided information related to testing, quarantine, and isolation throughout the Spring 2022 semester. It launched on January 24 and tracked the status on campus through May 11.

Throughout the spring 2022 semester, Siena’s wastewater field team will sample three campus locations weekly – main campus, MacClosky, and Cushing – to monitor for the presence of SARS-CoV-2 RNA. The analysis from each sample is posted as a plot point on each of the three graphs, below, representing the different campus locations. Higher values demonstrate higher viral load and potentially higher transmission. Single samples show a snapshot in time for the level of coronavirus detected in wastewater, while several data points over time provide indicators of viral trends in the community. Comparing these trends with confirmed COVID cases on campus provides additional information about viral transmission within the community. Remember, wastewater testing detects shedding of the virus which can be an indication of an active or emerging case or recovering/previous cases.
Vaccination and Booster: The COVID-19 vaccine is required for all students and employees, with exemptions only granted on medical and religious grounds. Siena has one of the highest vaccination rates among college communities in the country, with more than 99 percent of students and more than 97 percent of employees vaccinated. For the spring semester, Siena added a booster requirement to further strengthen the College’s collective immunity. All students are required to receive the vaccination booster as they become eligible.
Surveillance TESTING:
The College will conduct weekly mandatory testing of unvaccinated community members, approved with official College exemption, at their own expense ($20 per test).
RAPID/DIAGNOSTIC TESTING
Rapid test clinics for asymptomatic students will be held weekly or as demand warrants and require pre-registration. Health Services will offer diagnostic testing for all students who present symptoms.
