Ting Liu
Associate Professor of Computer Science
Dr. Liu received his Ph.D in 2009 from University at Albany. In his dissertation, Dr. Liu developed a revolutionary method for self-supervised machine learning of complex event extraction from text. In addition, He developed robust machine learning applications to solve other complex Natural Language Processing problems such as dialogue act tagging and topic tracking. He also is a significant contributor for the NLP algorithms underlying REMND (IARPA Metaphor) and DSARMD (IARPA SCIL) and key member of HITIQA and COLLANE (IARPA AQUAINT and CASE). His research focuses on Social Computational Linguistics, Natural Language Processing, Information Extraction, Machine Learning, and Robotics.
