John D'Argenio, a native of Rome, NY,  was appointed Director of Athletics on April 21, 1993. He is the seventh longest tenured athletic director in Division I at the same institution. D’Argenio earned his B. A from the University of Dayton and M.S. from North Dakota State University.

Currently the chair of the MAAC men's basketball committee and a member of the MAAC's marketing committee, in the recent past, D’Argenio served as a member of the NCAA Division I Baseball committee and as chair of the MAAC Baseball Committee.
